The purpose of this group is to abolish income taxes.
The first step is to organize a Million (Pissed Off) Taxpayers' March on Washington which will kick off a National Tax Strike through a work walk-out. The March will be on either April 15, 2007, a Saturday or April 17, a Monday, symbolically Patriots’ Day, a holiday in Massachusetts. Ideally, the March would be addressed by various nationally known speakers, Ron Paul comes to my mind but there would be others.
The Tax Strike would exploit the inherent weakness in the system. Like slavery, you can confiscate the earnings of others but you can’t make them work. People would just not go to work. No work, no wages, no income to tax. All governments that depend on income taxes would collapse.
There are several scenarios. It could be a simple complete walkout. No return to work until the tax is abolished. There could be a one day walk out one week, a two day, the next, a three day the next, etc. It could be increased monthly. I favor the first but it is not written in stone.
Repealing The Sixteenth Amendment requires another amendment and is therefore functionally impossible. It has happened only once.
There are only two means of amendment: one through a proposal of Congress to the states and the other through application of the states for another Convention to propose amendments. Congress will never propose anything that diminishes its own power and calls for a second Constitutional Convention have never succeeded. There is no direct means for the states themselves to amend.
Other ideas can be discussed as any members propose. It is my goal to keep this as democratic as possible.
I am seeking people willing to work on this project in any way. If you are, please join.
