Ang Bata at Kalinga — Volunteers for Children’s Welfare, Inc. (ABAKA-VCWI) is a non-stock, non-profit, non-sectarian socio-civic, volunteer organization of young professionals, students, and other civic-minded citizens bounded by theirs common desire to uplift the quality of living of special and underprivileged children.

Since its founding, ABAKA had successfully conducted annual free summer camps for the mentally retarded, orphans and street children of Olongapo City. ABAKA has made a difference in the lives of some of the children in institutions, camping has become a part of their lifestyle for it is here where they truly experience how it is to have an “Ate or Kuya” thus they always look forward to another camp.

ABAKA, promotes concern and compassion towards special and underprivileged children by recruiting and training volunteers from all walks of life not only to handle these type of children but also to be thankful for whatever blessings they have and share such to other people.

In the process of joining the camp, volunteers were given the opportunity to experience the joy of giving and loving by extending assistance to these children and become fully aware of their capacity to give till it hurts thus fulfilling one of the basic tenets of Christianity.
