Fleet Air Arm helicopters have seen action in Korea, Malaya, Suez, Borneo, Northern Ireland, the Falklands, Beirut, Turkey, Bosnia, Sierra Leone, Iraq and Afghanistan. They have provided vital Search and Rescue, humanitarian relief, counter-terrorist, counter-narcotic and anti-piracy roles both at home and abroad ever since World War Two. Their services are in demand now perhaps more than ever before.

FLEET AIR ARM HELICOPTERS SINCE 1943 - a unique reference book following on from the authors' 'Fleet Air Arm Fixed-Wing Aircraft since 1946' - gives the detailed individual histories of all autogiros and helicopters owned and/or operated by the Fleet Air Arm from 1943 to the present. Over 1,500 helicopters are covered, including those operated by the Royal Australian Navy in the immediate post-war years whilst carrying British serials.

Movement dates between units are given, as well as details of minor incidents and major accidents, including the names of aircrew involved where appropriate. Nearly 3,500 names are indexed.
