ZL APRS is an open moderated group, this is to put forward ideas, suggestions, and operating guidelines for APRS in New Zealand. This group is NOT an NZART group and is open to all.
This is not a group for grandstanding on issues within NZART please use zlhams group

This group supports only the new Paridigim WIDE1-1,WIDE2-2

The old TRACE,RELAY,WIDE is now phased out from the Central North Island and all of the South Island. Also note that there are many mixes of Frequencies and digis.

In many areas 144.650 is still used along side Ui-Digi and in some cases the old data eprom may still be in operation. Some have 144.575 operational

The move by the Top Of the South Island to 144.575 will be carried out over the next month or 2 (7/07/09)

These paths are suggested for use by fixed location users:
wide1-1 - replaces the old relay or single wide, gets digipeated once.
wide2-2 - replaces relay,wide or wide,wide gets digipeated twice.
wide3-3 - the longest path supported, gets digipeated three times.

If you operate mobile using fill in digipeaters these are your paths:
wide1-1 - replaces the old relay or single wide, gets digipeated once. wide1-1, wide2-1 - replaces relay,wide & wide,wide - digipeated twice.
wide1-1, wide2-2 - the longest mobile path, digipeated three times
