I came across this kiss doll site and could not stop
downloaing them.
She has made most of the Sailor Senshi(including
Uranus and neptune), but a V no Venus. She even made
a doll of her wife, which I thought is so sweet.

I don't suppose you can do me a favor while your over in japan. If
you can manage to get all of Utena on DVD (The regon 2 DVDs) for
about 25$ US each i'll reimburse you. I want these in order to make
AMVs of utena, why i'm not going with the domestic DVDs is for one
important reason, hard subtitles for the songs that are played
during the fights (I need those sceens if i'm going ot make a AMV of
it) . Oh well, have a good time in japan. I hope that you are
enjoying it.

I don't want to disappoint you, but finding cheap anime
dvds in Japan is tough. Anime DVDs in Japan cost about 70
to 80 dollars _each_, and when they are used they cost
between thirty and fifty.

I imported all of my anime dvds from America when I was in
Japan. With the exceptions of the occasional hard-subbed
item, I felt I was paying less for basically the same
thing.

Getting used DVDs in Japan might lower them to a spot
slightly above your price range. I think that Laserdiscs
can be much cheaper used; I got a lot in Japan for between
ten and twenty dollars. With Laserdiscs you also don't
have to worry about region code lockouts.

I'm too tired to be coherent, but Pattie and I are home safe and sound.

We bought many doujinshi, some of which are for Yuricon prizes...some of which
are mine, all mine!

We also bought some good used manga for auctions and prizes, as well as many,
many toys: most of mine feature Nami and Bibi from One Piece - sadly, not
actually having sex, but looking sexy at least.

Note to Kun and the gang - *we* have Luffy's Roger flag, nyah, nyah. :-)

Because I'm SO tired and because my trip journal runs like 50 pages or so (I'll
serialize it on my blog, Okazu) here's the high and low points:

Best things:

1) Way above all else was the company and guidance of Emi and her friend Takami.
I hope you all have the pleasure one day of listening to Takami and Pattie talk
nonsense at each other.

Emi and Takami are funny, cute and very, very cool. I can't wait for you all to
meet them at Yuricon! Make them autograph things for you. :-)

1A) Emi and Takami took us to a cheap, local and old-fashioned (not rustic
old-fashioned, urban old) restaurant and we gave the folks there something to
talk about for a week. That was incredible, for the food, as well as the
experience.

1B) E&T took us to a place where we did Karaoke as we ate dinner, the last
night. Also hysterically funn. Note to Kun: No, I did NOT sing "Idling" but P
and I sang "We Are."

2) Fuji-san - I cannot express enough how truly beautiful Mt. Fuji is. It was
breathtaking.

3) Seraa Myu - Quite by accident, there was a new Sailor Musical literally
around the corner from where we were staying. Pattie, myself and 1000 4-5 year
olds enjoyed SM all over again. It was fun and surreal.

4) Comiket - big simply doesn't describe it.

5) Ikebukuro - the area we stayed in. We loved it and would go back in a sec.

Worst things:

1) Jet lag. Oh. My. God. NOTHING prepared me for the way I felt the first three
days.

2) Roppongi - ewwww

3) The train/subway system, until we figured it out. To be honest, no one else
seemed to *quite* understand it, so we felt okay about this, then we figured it
out.

I'll tell you more later, when I'm fed and rested. :-)

Cheers,

Erica

Please excuse me as I delurk...

Does anyone know of some really good, humorous fics featuring the
Outer Senshi (specifically Haruka and Michiru, but preferably Hotaru
and Setsuna too)? Most of what I've read so far is angst-driven...
sort of understandable given the characters I suppose, but I for one
can't handle angst in large doses ^_^ Besides, I know there's a great
potential for comedy in the characters, particularly Haruka. I've
already read Erica's Rescue in Time, which had some great comic
moments in it... but does anybody know of any others?

Peace and love and empathy,

Chalk one up for the Yuricon chair who, instead of working, actively LOOKS
for places to submit to. Silly. :-)

True story - one of Emi's friends saw Yuricon mentioned on a BBS and told
me. I asked "which one?" since I track where we're mentioned and said that
I knew of four or five recent mentions on Japanese websites. One Emi had
never heard of. LOL

Thanks - you should have read the first version of that...utterly angsty and
wretched. Thank Sparkle, because she made me cut that shit out.

And i have a new Outers comic story in mind...well, a pastiche anyway,
beased on something that I saw in japan.

But, I do have a recommendation, with a caveat. This story is hysterical -
but also massively out of character: Suburban Senshi
http://dr_xadium.tripod.com/subsenshi/

I think this is one of the funniest things I've ever read in places, and we
cannot ever see anything from Super S without quoting Hotaru. "Your
boyfriend is a horse!"

Enjoy.

Cheers,

Erica

Great to have you back in the states, Erica. I'm glad
to hear that you and Pattie had a wonderful time.

I have always wanted to go to Japan someday. This is
inspiration enough to still want to go. But I hear you
have to take a lot of $$.

I am making the big flight to Ohayocon tomorrow in
Columbus, OH. Will there be a yuri/yaoi workshop at
this year's Katsucon in February? I will make an
attempt to fit this in into my voluntering schedule
(26 hours last year) because I want to sit thru the
whole thing. I just hate to leave in the middle of it
(didn't want them to think I was impolite by walking
out...I did enjoy the panel of last year's). Who
knows...maybe you could use another timekeeper (just
got a new timex for Xmas, also!).

- Carmen ^_^ (one more day till Ohayocon)

try http://cloverpetals.com/senshifics/main.html. and go to her fanfic
section. under humorfics there is this little fic called 'the drunken luna
bar and grill'. it's not just an outer senshi thing, it's more like an
entire mockage of the whole sailor moon universe. but it does include the
outers. it's not up to erica standards by any means but it's funny in its
own quirky, out there way. or maybe i'm just biased becasue i know the
author really well. *shrugs* anyway, check it out if you want. if you laugh,
at least you'll be weirded out by the oddities of how this person's mind
works.

Peace and love and empathy,

dooky

The first picture I uploaded was a picture from a new (SuperS mostly,
unfortunately) deck of Sailor Moon cards that were in front of all the game
places and anime stores. The picture was used as a tease to get you to waste yen
on Chibi-Usa cards. But, we found the whole deck at Mandarake and Pattie bought
it for me, as I thought it was absurd to pay so much for a single picture.
(Well, okay 5 pictures - the rest of the senshi look adorable too.)

Anyway, for those of you who missed it:
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/Yuricon/files/handmsuteki.jpg

Secondly, I was flipping through a small doujinshi and got to this page and Emi
and I laughed, because I HAD to have it. For those of you who can read even
basic Japanese, you should be able to make it out. Go ahead and read it yourself
for the laugh: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/Yuricon/files/ericasuki.jpg

For those who can't read Japanese......

it says, "Because I love Erica!" LOL

Anyway, I wanted to share those with you. :-)

Cheers,

Erica
