Hello,

Here are a few more features I'd like in the new interface, and, where
applicable, in the old one, too:

- Restore the ability to save messages to the sent folder on a
per-message basis. Years ago users could save an outgoing e-mail to
the "Sent" folder by ticking a box beneath the message compose window.
It meant you didn't automatically retain e-mails you didn't want, an
indispensable feature Yahoo inexplicably dispensed with.

This functionality could work slightly differently in the new version.
If the user enables "Save all messages to Sent folder" by default,
then one would simply un-check the box to ensure the particular e-mail
wouldn't be retained.

- Fix HTML formatting. The new Yahoo Mail is allegedly out of beta, so
it's practically unforgivable that I can't really tell if I'm actually
applying formatting. If I want to put my phone number in bold, for
example, it's only logical the bold button would stay selected until I
turn bold off.

Instead, there are many times when bold remains on even when the
formatting bar indicates text should be normal. This works in the
opposite manner, too: Bold is highlighted, but the text remains plain.
Darn those bugs! Please fix 'em.

- More tab functionality. If a user deletes a message whose tab is
open, why not automatically close the tab. And how about options for
opening new tabs, blank tabs, or even merging tabs? Duplicating tabs?
Dragging a message tab to open a new browser window? Eh?

One thing is certain: I'll be keeping tabs on the new developments.

In additional to the quoting issue with the "> " prefix, the wrapping
needs to be fixed up. For example, if someone's email client sends
with a text width of something larger than what Yahoo has set, then it
gets wrapped all funny with carriage returns and such. If there was a
method to clean this up so that this did not happen, that would be so
nice! It's a small detail, but i think makes emailing much nicer.
