Hi,

I hope its okay asking this question here as Calendar is built into
the Yahoo Mail service.

Are there any plans to add the ability to import iCal formatted files
into Yahoo Calendar? This is used by many applications, even Google
Calendar, but currently Yahoo's Calendar only imports specific
application formats rather than open data formats.

Regards,
Kenny

No, I'm kidding.

I don't know of any plans to incorporate iCal formatted files, but is it possible that iCal can export the file to a format that Yahoo can import and move your stuff that way?  Not pretty, I know....

One of the Yahoo team did mention here a while back that there would be a new calendar unrolling.  I would think that they would want to include as much import/export-ability as possible.  If you want to draw customers away from your competitor's products, you'll get more if you make it easier for them to move to your service.

I'm thinking this may be the "iCal" Kenny mentioned:
http://tools.ietf.org/html/rfc2445

The fact that "iCal" is also a product by Apple is simply an unfortunate (but obviously intentional) "coincidence" ;)

There needs to be a syncing feature to sync Yahoo! Mail and Mail(Mac

to sync with iCal.

Hi,

I always want to make Yahoo! Mail default when I build a new computer. I want
Yahoo! Mail to catch "mailto" links and to open when you want to send links from
your browser etc. Previously there was a little utility available from Yahoo!
which could do that, but now the only way is to install Yahoo! Messenger. So I
install Yahoo! Messenger with the Yahoo! Mail add-on, and then I have to
uninstall the messenger part again since I do not want multiple IM clients
installed and Yahoo! Messenger doesn't support Skype where all my friends and
colleagues are. On top of which Yahoo! Mail now has the Messenger built in, but
without the default mail option.

Does anyone here know why Yahoo! stopped making the utility available? And why
is it not an option in Yahoo! Mail itself to make it default? I really do not
understand why an important aspect of Yahoo! Mail, and any e-mail client for
that matter, is an add-on in another program. Am I missing something obvious?

Hi...

I have 2 Email accounts with Yahoo. One of them is the freebie
account with "Yahoo.com" and the other is charged a monthly fee
with "Att.net".

If there are any added features with my pay for use account, I'd like
to take advantage of them; but I notice that my Contacts List,
Calendar, and Settings between accounts aren't the same.

Is there any way to transfer/duplicate the settings from my old Yahoo
Freebie Account to my "ATT.net" account ? If so, how ???

It is still taking up to 15 minutes for my Yahoo Beta account
to "Check for Mail" when I logon. Is there any way to rememdy this ?
I'm retired, and now I'm worried that I might "Be Gone" before my daily
Emails load ! (He-he)

Thank You !

It's a privacy setting. You can set whether or not you want your Messenger
status to appear
on the website. In your case, it's likely that you have that feature disabled.
To change it, try
the following:

1) Click on the "My Account" link in at the top of the page.

2) On the next page, click "Edit/Create Profiles".

3) On the next page you should see a note that says "Check the box to hide my
online status
from other users". If the box is checked, that means you're hiding your online
status. You can
uncheck it and click the "Finished Editing" button to enable showing your online
presence.

I don't see any use in toolbars anymore. Today's browsers come
standard w/ a flexible search box and RSS support, as well as
autofill, spellchecking, and almost any other useful thing a toolbar
does. For me they're a waste of screen-space and recourses.

Thank You !!!

I'll give it a try.  I was wondering why they'd only make 1 extra button available.

On the toolbar, click on the little arrow beside the tool bar settings icon. Select add/eddit buttons. One ot the tabs on the next screen says Make a Button. I have used this to add 5 buttons to my toolbar.

Currently, there is only one (1) Button that can be edited to my
specifically selected (and Non-Yahoo) URL such as Sprint.com.

I use other URL's Daily and I'd like to place them into one or more
additional buttons on the Yahoo Toolbar.  Is there a way to do this
that I haven't seen yet ?  Will this feature be implemented soon or at
all ?

Thanks !

Hi...

I've been getting 2 or more Error Codes from my Yahoo Mail Beta
website per day. They are as follows...
////////////////
The HTTP response has an unexpected status code

HTTP Status: 12029
Status Text: Unknown
No HTML was present in the HTTP server response
/////////////////
Link Lost to ATT.net... Reconnect Pending
/////////////////

Is there anything I can do to remedy this; or is someone already
working on it from your end ?

Thanks !

Nahhh... didn't work.  The only options available to me were under...
"Other/Personal_Name#" (But there were 2 of them open to me)
I'd like at least 1 or 2 more.

Thanks Anyway !

Hi & Thanks; But...

I set all those options; and on the Yahoo Mail Beta screen in the upper-left hand corner, it tells me that I'm AVAILABLE.

I just doesn't indicate that I'm available on your Y-Mail Website at the time I was looking earlier.  Perhaps it just takes several minutes because it's showing-up now.

Thanks Again !

It's a privacy setting. You can set whether or not you want your Messenger status to appear
on the website. In your case, it's likely that you have that feature disabled. To change it, try
the following:

1) Click on the "My Account" link in at the top of the page.

2) On the next page, click "Edit/Create Profiles".

3) On the next page you should see a note that says "Check the box to hide my online status
from other users". If the box is checked, that means you're hiding your online status. You can
uncheck it and click the "Finished Editing" button to enable showing your online presence.

Hi Again...

About 2 to 3 times per day, I either get Disconnected from the I'net
and/or get an error on Yahoo Mail Beta about some Hypertext Not Found.
I've never had this problem beforehand, nor with any other
Website/Email Server.

Is this a known problem; and/or is anyone working on it ?

Thanks Again !
