This once again proves that Yahoo's spam filters leave a lot to be desired. As far as getting the "same" spam messages over & over, this is because spammers constantly change their email address or spoof others to avoid getting caught. That's why simply marking them as spam or blocking the sender's address doesn't do any good. Before you know it, you'll have uselessly blocked 1,000 or more addresses that are no longer used. The only way to completely stop spam from reaching your inbox is to only accept messages from people in your address book, & every single spam will go to the trash. I recommend Thunderbird to do this. I know it's kind of strict, but at least your inbox won't get cluttered with junk.

Previously maybe I'd get one or two spam messages in my Inbox a week

Has something changed?
Also why do I keep receiving the same messages over and over when I
keep flagging them as spam?

Maybe there is something different about the spam that you are receiving today that the spam filter isn't "trained" to catch. I would suggest being patient and continuing to use the Spam button to deal with these messages. You can try contacting Customer Care, but I suspect that they won't tell you anything more than to keep using the Spam button.

As for receiving the same message over and over, that's a good question, and one that the Yahoo Mail staff would need to answer. I have been flagging emails from a certain job listing site as spam again and again and I still keep receiving them.

I have noticed an overall lower speed and performance since around noon, Central Time, 02-Aug-07. I have also switched back to the classic, which is still slow but it at least works.

I can't find anything from Yahoo indicating an overall problem.

I noticed that spam seems to come in waves.  The spammers come up with a new way to get their messages out, and then it takes a week or two for the spam filters to start learning their ways and catch up.  Happens every few months.

I am beginning to wonder if maybe it is the farm I am on as I have
another yahoo email account that is on another farm and I do not have
any trouble with the beta version of it. I am hoping that it is just
one of those things that fix themselves as of today when i try to send
email from this account on beta it will set the and clock on the
sending message screen forever and the message never does get sent.

For those who took that time to respond to my questions thank you!

The premium service is worth it to me. You DON'T get ads, & there are many more features that come with a plus account than a free account. My main reason was the pop3 access, but maybe that's just me.... Many members here use it for the extra attachment space & to remove the ads. I think most people are using webmail instead of a desktop client these days, because of the ability to access email from any computer or cell phone. Personally, I use Thunderbird to send/receive my email, because Yahoo's spam filters don't work well enough for me. Well, color me confused....I have the non-paid version of Yahoo mail, and I have pop3 access, and I have 50 filters....and can forward my mail....Maybe because I have SBC Yahoo DSL?

I still get the ads though...and that's a pain in the behind, especially when it's a nice, close up shot of someone else's behind full of cellulite and the wonderful things whatever drug can do for it...just what I love at the office when someone walks by my cubie....them seeing a nice butt shot on my computer....(Could they at least make the ads less obnoxious??)

mean as of know if I am understanding correctly you get ads still and
the only main thing you are really paying for is the POP 3 access. So
is this the mail reason why those of you who have the paid accounts
have it for..the pop 3 service?

Thanks in advanced for education me as I am considering trying the
paid service.

Yes, it's because you have SBC Global. The ads are something they've recently done as an "improvement" to the service. As a regular Yahoo Mail Plus user, I don't see any ads.

Here's a comparison of free accounts vs plus accounts: http://help.yahoo.com/l/us/yahoo/mail/yahoomail/mailplus/overview/overview-03.html

I have the same thing KP has...it's the paid version thru Verizon FiOS
(part of the package thing), so my Verizon email is attached to my
yahoo email.

I have asked support@... what to do about this and they told me
to forward these emails to spam@.... When I did I received a
delivery failure that said spam@... was an invalid address.

Hi!  Just wondering if anyone knows what new features will be introduced and when?  Or an approximate time frame?

I've taken a look at the new live hotmail and they have some great new features (including free access to your email via outlook, attaching photos which takes less space, and being able to play a music file right from the email) and was wondering if yahoo plans on coming out with something similar.  I would stay with yahoo but I don't want to pay the extra money just for pop access.

Thanks!

Well after a very long time of reading posts I finally made the
switch to the new mail.Im not sure how long ill stay but we will see.
I do have a question or two reguarding signatures.

I have always liked the classic mail because it gave me a choice on
each email I wrote if I wanted to use my signature or not.
Maybe I am missing something but I dont see a little box to use my
signature when I want to.It looks as if I either have to use all the
time or never.

Next question reguarding the signature is I use a very small picture
of my company logo, every once in a while I like to go into options
and change that logo.

I cant figure out how to do it in the new y mail like I could in
classic.

Im just looking for a bit of help.
Thanks

I'm just responding to say I found a way to remove myself from showing
up in the list of online contacts to chat with, without having to
remove my contact info. I just "blocked" myself. After that I don't
show up in the online list.

Problem solved.

We don't know what features are planned, however, the calendar will eventually be updated for the beta interface. Only the Yahoo Mail developers know what's coming, but they can't tell us until shortly before the feature is released.

To edit your signature, simply go to the options & click on "signature". Currently, there's no option in the compose tab to turn off the signature. It may be added in the future, but I don't know for sure.

basically talk to myself. The only way I've found to get rid of the option to choose myself to

I can remove my email address and yahoo id from my own contact info

Please fix it so your own contact info isn't displayed as someone
