Did you download it from mozilla.com or
use the update function in your old version? If you didn't
download it, that's probably why it didn't work. Since your old
version is no longer supported, it means the update function won't
work because Mozilla is not sending the upgrades through that
method for your version. Download it & install it manually,
it's not hard to do. Once it's installed, check your start menu to
be sure that you don't have both the old & new versions
installed. If you do, first run the new version. This will allow
it to import your settings, bookmarks, & addons from the old
version. Once that is done, uninstall the old version & make
sure you have a shortcut to the new version on your desktop or
taskbar for quick access. Hope this helps! If you have any more
