Created by the popular female group CLAMP, X/1999 tells the story of a young boy named Kamui Shirou, who is given the choice to join the Dragons of Heaven and save the Earth from destruction, or to join the Dragons of Earth, whose goal is to destroy the world, thereby "cleansing" it of the evil brought by humans.
