The Writer's Hut is an online group set in place by and for African American writers. This "hut" serves as a shelter for writers to retreat to talk about the craft of creating fictional and nonfictional works (poetry, plays and movies included) that are geared toward the African American community and beyond. **To join, you MUST be a writer who has a valid website that advertises your works or works in progress...OR...you must be a writer who at least one of the current WH family members is familiar with.
Members are encouraged to chat often and to share their own experiences as aspiring, independently published or mainstream published writers. As much as possible, members are encouraged to stick to topics that relate in some way to the craft of writing or books in general. ABSOLUTELY NO LURKING IS ALLOWED!
To remain in this group, members MUST:
1. Post regularly - at least once per week
2. Participate in the online polls
3. Keep email setting at either "Individual Emails" or "Daily Digest". Other special settings are NOT ACCEPTABLE.
Clean conversation is strictly enforced. Moderator retains the right to reject the posting of any group member if guidelines are not followed. Anyone who habitually attempts to post emails containing offensive material including, but not limited to: blatant provoking comments, profanity, vulgarities or sexually explicit/erotic material (including book excerpts and photos) will be unsubscribed. Your respect is greatly appreciated.
