We are a critique group for writers of romance and fiction with strong romantic elements. Our goal is to polish our manuscripts for publication. Whether we are published or unpublished, we are serious about creating strong novels that capture the interest of editors and romance readers alike.
We are an active, committed community of writers exchanging constructive and honest critiques. Participation is a requirement. Writers joining our group are matched with critique partners, allowing for greater continuity and consistency in the critiquing process.
Currently, we are closed to new members. Should our membership fall, we will reopen. Please check back later.
If you:
-have completed a manuscript
-want a group that will push you to your limits,
-are seriously pursuing publication,
-want to polish your style,
-want constructive, honest critiques,
-are willing to spend the time to give thorough, constructive critiques,
-and can participate regularly, with reasonable exceptions,
then this is the group for you.
Our major focus is critiques; however, through our sister list http:groups.yahoo.com/group/ChatRomance (open only to WriteRomance members), we offer help with everything from brainstorming to research, we discuss the art and business of writing, and we share our lives.
To ensure that we have an active, committed community, we ask applicants to submit the first chapter of their book, a brief biography (a few paragraphs to tell us who you are and what you're writing, not a professional resume). If your writing sample is appropriate for the group, you will receive a short chapter to critique. Once we have both your writing sample and critique test, we post them for members of the group to review and decide whether they wish to exchange critiques with you.
To join, click the join button at the top of the page and fill out the Yahoo! form. A member of WriteRomance will contact you to request your chapter and bio.
