WINDOWS FOR SHOCKWAVE

Windows For Shockwave (WFS) is a set of behaviors for Director 8.5+ that allows drag and droppable creation of onstage windows, modal dialog boxes, cascading menus, and good cursor control. It can be used in the creation of Shockwave movies or Projectors. The drag and drop behaviors are suitable for Director developers with no Lingo knowledge.
WFS Professional introduces the ability to create dynamic multi-sprites, and families and elements thereof. Normally, the Score is fully determined in Authoring mode. You do not change the look of the Score at run-time. WFS Professional is the only easy-to-use system available that allows you to create/destroy truly dynamic sprites and even groups of them at run-time.
Usually in application development environments, the look of windows and menus is highly standardized. Not so in WFS, though they can be standard looking, if you want. WFS primarily supplies you with behaviors, not graphics, though the supplied examples are fairly slinky, as windows and menus go.
More generally, WFS is for the creation of multi-sprite objects. Multi-sprite objects are collections of sprites coordinated by a Manager behavior. The Manager makes sure they move together and open and close together. You can also dynamically join multi-sprites together or split them apart, add elements to them, and delete elements from them using the Lingo handlers available under the hood of WFS.
This list is for technical support concerning WFS, discussion of further development of the behaviors, and discussion of work that uses WFS. I welcome your questions and comments, and particularly your behaviors that build on WFS.
