Description

This Group is dedicated to keeping Wilson Park, Tarrytown, NY , as open as possible for public use. This precious parcel of land is up for development. We hope to keep it save from overdevelopment and also help forge a greenways trail to connect the Old Croton Aqueduct Trail with the North County Trail Ext. which goes around part of the Tarrytown Lakes. WILSON PARK - TARRYTOWN, NY - Tarrytown Planning Board reviews Environmental Impact Statement for "Completeness" on proposed development for Wilson Park on Monday, November 22nd - see files section inside this group:

Several people - neighbors and environmental activists - have voiced numerous environmental and other public concerns. Written comments can still be made to Ms. Kathleen D'Eufemia (Village contact), 21 Wildey St., Tarrytown, NY 10591 or call 914.631.1652.

This development, fortunately subject to full approval, would likely preclude the only chance to finally connect the North County Trailway to the Old Croton Aqueduct Trail, a long-sought goal described both in County and State plans. (some plans can be found in the links at this site - let us know if you have any additional information or useful links to add.)

Land use issues have brought numerous residents together to share ideas to help preserve the character of this unique area, portions of which are or could become vulnerable to private development. An
