This web group hails from Elwood, Indiana; the boyhood home of Wendell L. Willkie, 1940 Republican Party candidate for President of the United States.
We feel Mr. Willkie put Elwood, Indiana, on the map! His name graces a city park, a city street, and at one time, the high school, Wendell L. Willkie High School.
Although Mr. Willkie did not win the election against Franklin D. Roosevelt, he brought a pride to our town that remains in us today. The pride we are talking about is
