WestSideNewYorkCityShuls is an announcement list for the Jewish community and shuls in the Upper West and vicinity of New York City. The primary goal of the list is to be an effective tool in the building and maintenance of our community. This list is intended to allow members of the community to communicate with one another.

The following are examples of emails that would GENERALLY BE APPROPRIATE: (i) events taking place outside of the community which may be of interest to members of the Upper West Side and vicinity of New York City Jewish community; (ii) general information which may be useful to members of the Upper West Side and vicinity of New York City Jewish Community; (iii) lost and found; (iv) information about sports leagues and/or other appropriate social events; (v) requests for community action on behalf of Israel; (vi) short targeted letter-writing campaigns for Israel; etc. (viii) other questions or information to your neighbors in the community like looking for housekeeper; looking for tutor; need a ride to a destination etc.
The following are examples of emails that would NEVER BE APPROPRIATE FOR ANY LIST: (i) jokes; (ii) auctions; (iii) offensive or disparaging emails; (iv) commercial or business postings and (v) Lashon Hara.
