Some FAQ's about the Oregon Pinto Horse Association Futurity..
Does my Pinto Horse, Pony or Miniature have to be nominated for the futurity
before he or she is born or at birth? NO it does not, OPtHA Futurity is an
"Open" futurity in which you may enter your Horse, Miniature or Pony up to the
date of your class.
Does the Sire or Dam have to be nominated with OPtHA in order for our foal
(Pony, Miniature or Horse) to be eligible for entry in the Futurity? NO, they do
not. OPtHA Futurity is "OPEN" to all color registered Pintos (Horse, Pony or
Miniature) age weanling - 2 years old (for Halter) and 2 years-5 years
(Performance).
What is the entry fee? 2009 OPtHA Futurity entry fee is 50.00 (post marked
before July 20th, 2009) or 75.00 (post marked after July 20th, 2009).
What if I'm the only entry in my class? OPtHA Futurity classes are non-point
earners, so it is our policy to run the class no matter what the number of
entries are, this allows all participants the opportunity to win cash and
prizes..
When is the Futurity? The Futurity is held Annually at the Summer Spectacular
held in Albany, Oregon the first weekend of August. 2009 OPtHA Futurity is held
July 31st-Aug 2nd.
If my Horse, Miniature, or Pony is breeding stock can I still enter the classes?
At this time we do not have Breeding Stock classes available in the Futurity.
However if you would like to see a Breeding Stock division added, please email
me your request and if there is an interest in this I will be happy to add it in
the future.
