Description
This is a meeting place for Wanaquians/Wanaquites to discuss anything and everything that concerns our community. It could be politics, history, education, commerce ... anything "Wanaque" is up for discussion here. This is also the spot to discuss the history of our town, to help build an on-line community of citizens and to meet each other *virtually* through the Internet.
It doesn't matter if you're in Haskell or Midvale or the new Wanaque Reserve, please join us in getting to know one another and learning about each other's concerns for and interest in our town.
Please, no flames, no spam and no ads. New members will be moderated for their first two posts to make sure they're not spam or ads. I hate spam and ads ;-)
The newest home page photo is an October 1913 photo of what was described as a "fire" at the DuPont Plant Ballistite Dry House # 98. The word "fire" was a euphemism for explosion. The plant building is completely gone with only the remains of a sand-filled barricade remaining. This is one of many buildings throughout the DuPont site, most likely in the area between Fourth Ave.(where the Valley View site is located) and the Wanaque River. Photo provided by the Wanaque History site at http://www.wanaquehistory.com and the Hagley Library.

Re: a good thing
That's a great story! Glad it turned out well. If your son had credit cards or his SSN in his wallet, he should keep an eye on his credit report just in case.
