The very wonderful "Mrs Visnjic I Wish" on TWoP has posted some

I would like to thank all of you for joining. Now, what am I going to have to
do to
get you all to start posting? Please don't be afraid. We can all be friends
here.
Would it help if I gave some suggestions for posting?
Should we label our posts? This is a suggestion and I'm open to all of your
suggestions. We could do something like this:
SPOILER: This is to post something specific that you have information about. If
it
is episode specific, you might want to put that in the Suject.
SPECULATION: This could be anything that you think is going to happen, either
based on spoilers, past episodes, rumors or your Ouija Board.
MEDIA BLURB: This could be anything from NBCMV or TV Guide or whatever.
QUESTION: Anything that you want someone to answer. If episode or character
specific, it would be good to put that in the Subject as to attract those who
might
be able to answer.
PROFILE: I would be delighted to hear something about those of you posting
here. We are here because we love spoilers, so we a probably a pretty nosy
bunch. So anything from your favorite episode or character, to whatever you
would like to share would be nice. I would also like to know what you would
like
to see happen on the show and what you would hate to see happen.
OT: Off-topic stuff is OK with me, but please try to keep it related to the
show or
the people involved. Feel some sympathy for those who are digest readers.
If this is too regimented for you, then just post. I want this to be fun.

Hi, WWSpoilers!
I am the lucky 40th member of this fledgling group. Do I get a prize?
Linda asked me to check the group settings and the archive setting
needed to be tweaked, and that has been done. Everyone should now be
able to access the group and read the posts.
Looks like this will be a fun and interesting group.

Linda,
I looked on the group site and it indicates that the archives are only available
to the moderators - so if the messages aren't delivered to your mail box you
can't read them unless you are a moderator.
Seems like it might be a setting that can be changed once you have access to the
group site.

Does this spoiler imply that the President and Leo are arguing about
something? And that the President might have said something that hurt Leo?
Please, NO!
I do not want the Bartlet team disagreeing with each other again. No, no, no!
That is where the show sometimes gets off track. The President and staff
working together for the greater good has always been the heart of the show.

ownership b/c they've just been joking about not doing stand up and CJ jokes
that they wouldn't be doing TV either, if she understands things correctly. At
any rate, Toby wants CJ and Josh to talk to Reuters on the flight to Brussels,
I'm not sure why, but he's got a problem with them.
>
>The next scene has Josh in his office talking to JCN's (a computer
>programming company, like Microsoft) Washington lobbyist, James Cook.
> He asks Josh if he's all ready for Brussels. Josh wants to talk about India.
The CWA (a union - I think Communications Workers Association?) says that JCN is
shipping thousands of computer programming jobs there. Cook says that its
private info. Apparently India's in on the trade deal they're signing when they
hated many, many things about it. Cook admits some jobs may go over there.
Josh is starting to get pissed and says, I'm sure in his very hostile Josh way,
that he hopes it has nothing to do with their negotiations. Well, of course it
does. Josh is pissed he didn't know before hand, Cook who obviously wasn't
going to say anything until necessary, probably until they made the layoffs,
talks about it being an internal decision. They argue whether its about
economics or politics. Josh is pissed b/c of the ramifications - Unions and
congressmen and the
>GOP on his back. Republicans are gonna put "Bartlet the job-killer"
>signs on lawns. Cook talks about saving money, Josh jokes about sending the
CEO to India, Cook says if they don't do this they'll go under -- everyone else
is doing it - Dell, IBM, (the evil, satanic) Microsoft. They argue some more.
Josh asks if he told Parsons (head of the CWA) and Cook says no, but that Josh
should feel free when Parsons shows up in his office. End Act One.
>
>We come back to Josh's office several pages later where Josh walks in
>to find Bill Parsons, President of the CWA, along with two people in their 40s.
There's a champagne bottle on Josh's desk with a Presidential seal on
>it. He grabs it and hides it under his desk. Josh explains that he didn't
>know the jobs were being shipped overseas. Parsons complains that they
supported Bartlet, twice but that they got sold up the Ganges so that they could
help the "soft-money-donating CEOs" Josh apologizes, asks them not to go
public yet -- they really will be creating jobs and growing the economy.
Parsons argues about who its good for -- foreign investors? Josh says they new
they were for free trade when they endorsed them, but Parsons said it was
because they were only supposed to lose old economy jobs like shoe
manufacturing, but that if they retrained they'd get better jobs but those are
being sucked out of the US too. Josh says they're going to fight for more job
training and other benefits but Parsons rebuts by saying it'll be retraining
people for their third or fourth careers -- what else can they train for?
Nuclear physics? Josh makes a joke about buying a house that falls flat.
Parsons insists that even though the economy is growing that jobs aren't b/c of
globalization. Josh offers pension assistance, wage assistance, whatever they
want. Steve says that they don't want burial insurance, they want jobs. Its at
this point that we learn that Steve and Diane work for JCN and "thanks to the
trade deal their jobs are being outsourced to India. Steve has three kids that
have to go to college and Diane still has school loans from the last time she
retrained. Parsons says that the admin. made promises five years ago and Steve
and Diane aren't leaving until Josh tells them how they plan to honor it.
Parsons leaves to go tell the press and congress what's going on.

>free-trader. Will answers that America has a good chunk of the world's wealth

>
>Then we get we get the tail end of a conversation between CJ and Leo -

>
>Last scene of the ep - Steve's going on about wanting a job and doing
>better than his parents, not asking them for money. Donna comes in and says
that the staff vans are about to leave. Josh then gets a big quasi-monologue -
Ten years ago he worked for a senate candidate (Hoynes maybe?) Who wanted
workers to be able to take their health care, pensions, and vacation time with
them from job to job b/c people were gonna work 15 jobs. They talked him out of
it b/c no one wants to hear that they're gonna work 15 jobs. Now the idea
doesn't seem so silly. Josh is honest -- the way Bartlet was honest in Nashua
at the VFW hall about milk, real thing honest - They wanted CWA's votes, they
didn't want to scare them so they didn't tell them the truth. They can't save
their jobs, but they're gonna create more in the long run. They haven't figured
out the short run yet. But they're gonna do more to prepare them, they have to.
Diane asks if its a promise. Josh says "No, but we're gonna try" they cut to
staffers leaving the building with luggage and Josh shaking hands with Steve and
Diane.

close the check point after suicide bombings "like the one last week." Ashraf
can't work to feed his family, so he is forced to work in the laundry room for
little pay. His supervisor says he's lucky to be there, in Arabic. Ashraf only
wants to work to feed his family. The bombers "take food out of [his]
children's mouths." His supervisor yells in Arabic and Ashraf returns to work.
Donna thanks him ... then we get a Donna vo -- talking about the thousands of
Palestinians who cross the Erez checkpoint so they can go to work. Cut to Josh
reading Donna's e-mail on a plane. Donna VO again, talking about how they're
just trying to take care of their families... Josh takes it in.

needing a military escort to get into Israeli settlements. We then see an
Israeli armored transport vehicle drive up what looks like an ordinary suburban
street. Donna VO talks about mortar shells landing there over the last few
years. Donna and Goran get out. They enter the house of Yoah and Eilat Itzhaki
a few minutes later. Donna VO talks about meeting a settler family.

Eliat adds that if they give into the Arabs on the this they'll eventually all
end up in Tel Aviv and then the Arabs will take that too. Then treading
lightly, Donna asks about their children, who have been injured. Apparently
they're school bus was attacked -- out of the 7 children, the 8 year old son is
missing a foot, the 10 year old daughter both legs and the 12 year old is
missing one leg. Donna asks, ala Sagittarius, if its scary raising children
there. Eliat says there's fear but they must over come it. Yoav says that now
there is only the occasional nightmare. She says its more safe there than in
Jerusalem. Eliat adds that in Jerusalem when you see an Arab you don't know but
in Gaza if you see one you know so you shoot him. Donna takes it all in.

wife was up to. Donna asks if the kids are his and his wife's, after he
confirms, Donna just can't understand why she would leave them. Iyad is
bewildered by that. Goran explains that families of suicide bombers are
showered with presents. Candy is often handed out at the funerals. He points
to the kids on the floor and the candies all around them. His wife left a
video. After talking to Iyad in Arabic, Iyad pops the tape in. We see a 22
year old woman in combat fatigues with a rifle and a rocket propelled grenade
launcher. Goran translates that while she loved her children she wanted to be a
martyr more. She'd dreamed about doing exactly what she did. Donna regards the
children playing among the candies.

says hello, Donna looks up at him. Donna wants to know what happened to him.
Josh is surprised. Donna says he needs to shave. He tries to tell Donna that
he didn't really have time but she cuts him off, she wants to know where she is.
After a moment, Josh says with difficulty that she's in Germany. Donna doesn't
think it looks like Germany. Josh tries to tell her that she's in a military
hospital but the nurse comes back in with Donna's water. When she gives it to
her Donna tells Josh that the nurse isn't German. The nurse agrees. Josh tries
to ask the nurse a question but she's helping Donna with her Patient Control
Analgesic, telling her that when it hurts all she has to do is click the button
and the morphine'll start coming. Donna tells the nurse that Josh needs to
shave. The nurse looks at Josh, as if seeing him for the first time and agrees.

confused so Josh pushes past her and runs to the nurses station. Nurse Parnes
is sitting behind the desk. Josh asks where Donna is, the nurse says "excuse
me?" and Josh says that Donna's not in her room. The nurse wants to know if
Josh is a relative and he says that he works for the President of the United
States and that he has the diplomatic rank of a three star general and demands
to know where Donna is.

out. CJ tries to protest b/c the draft is already circulating. The President
mocks the litany of phrases, asking if its Tolkien. Toby tells him that he has
to use strong language so that he'll be able to back off a bit later. There's
now 15 seconds left to air and the President is still changing things, saying
that he should've written his statement himself. CJ quietly tells Toby that
she'll try to put a hold on the draft and leaves. Toby looks to Leo for support

President says he's ok. They're counting down the last five seconds and an

Galit in. The crew is packing up and they start speaking. The President is a
bit sarcastic in greeting the Ambassador, thank her for sparing a moment of her
time. The Ambassador doesn't flinch which pisses the President off even more.
The President is upset b/c the Israelis are interfering in some way with the US
investigation. The Ambassador said that it has nothing to do with the US, but
that they were tracking the man for six months (could this man be Goran?). The
President wants to know if they thought before they acted. Galit is glad that
someone responsible for many Israeli deaths is dead, the President counters that
it was at the cost of innocent civilians. They continue to argue about fault
and rational -- the President is going to have a difficult time gaining access
to everything from the Palestinians if Israel keeps firing missiles into Gaza.
Galit says they had little time to make a decision after they received their
intelligence.

President is self deprecating, he's very unhappy about doing this.

From NBC:
On the eve of the President's (Martin Sheen) visit to a controversial trade
summit in Brussels, Josh (Bradley Whitford) feels torn when he learns that
free-trader Bartlet will reverse his position about sacrificing American
jobs to foreign lands -- while C.J. (Allison Janney) takes out her
frustrations with a new FCC ruling allowing multimedia companies increased
ownership of TV stations. As the administration fights to spin the job-loss
fallout, Donna (Janel Moloney) tells Josh about her dissatisfaction with her
limited role on his staff. In the midst of it all, Kate Harper (Mary
McCormack) steps in as the brash new Deputy National Security Advisor.

The time has come for this group. Thoughts for the end of Season 5 and the
future of the show are running rampant. Bring it on.
Just be respectful of each other. I don't want to see any attacks. It woud be
nice
if you have actual spoilers that can be backed up, please label as such. If you
are
speculating on these spoilers and where they might lead, but don't have anything
to back that up, it would be nice if you labelled as such.
But I want this to be fun.
I just don't want to see Jed losing an arm in a helicopter incident.
