WV Home Schooled Teens is an email group for (obviously) teenagers who are currently home-schooling in the wonderful state of West Virginia. It is open to any teen who, like our kids, are frustrated with the long distance between others like themselves and would like some conversation, friendship, and interaction with those in the same boat. There will be many different kinds of teens on this list, so it's important that everyone's beliefs are respected. And equally, with such unique people, everyone will be sure to find a few friends with the same interests, hobbies, or beliefs. Although there will be some adult moderators, it will be your list. Let's keep it clean, respectful, and fun. Debates are welcome, but do not attack the other members themselves. (Example: You can tell another member you think his view is wrong, but don't call the guy a jerk!) Who knows...maybe there's even a possibility that a statewide get together could happen at a central location, or those involved in the list could have their own activity or workshop at a statewide convention or function. That's something the group would have to think about themselves. For safety reasons, this is a closed group. All new members will have to be approved. I would like to do it by invite only, or by mentioning that they heard about it on an official West Virginia homeschool list. Now, a couple of rules: Absolutely no profanity or sexual talk will be tolerated and will be grounds for instant expulsion. DO NOT post your personal information (Last name, phone number, address)...lets stick to first names and the county we're in. No links to personal pages (my space, etc.) And most of all, just be yourselves! That's the best part!
