We had an excellent turnout for voting, with 19 voters.
Normally I pick the top 6 choices, however I am extending this to the top 7, so I don't have to choose which book is left out.
Since three of our choices are best sellers and currently have long waiting lists, I am still working on the final order. I hope to figure it out by our next meeting.
With that said, I have picked September's book: Angelica by Arthur Phillips.
We start our new meeting date on August 13th (Thursday)
If you are interested, here are the results of our voting.

I received an email the other day from Karen Walling, a 65 year old lady from Utah, looking for a "female email bookworm pal". Considering our last book, The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society by Mary Ann Shaffer, involved pen pals and book lovers. I thought I would see if anyone in the group was interested in corresponding with Karen.
If you are interested in being her pen pal, please let me know and I will send you her contact information.
From the other emails the reference staff have received from her, it appears she is interested in moving to Oregon.
Once voting has ended, I will tally the votes and post the results.

Please send me any book suggestions that you have. The reason I am doing this now is so that I can have our fall/winter book club picks published in the local media papers. I have to get the list in by July.
I would like all suggestions by the end of the month, so that I can have the voting forms ready by our June meeting. You can email or give it to me at the library.
We had a wonderful discussion tonight, thanks everyone who could make it.
I have extra copies of our July book at the library. Just ask for one at the circulation desk.
Thursday, July 8, 2010 Captains Courageous by Rudyard Kipling The only one of Kipling's novels to be cast in an American setting, Captains Courageous endures as one of literature's most cherished and memorable sea adventures. Harvey Cheyne, spoiled millionaire's son, tumbles overboard from a luxury liner--only to be rescued by the crew of a Gloucester schooner. Thus begins the boy's second voyage into the rugged rites and ways of sailors.
I also have the online voting form ready to pick our fall selections.
Don't forget we will meet on July 8th to discuss Captains Courageous. If you need a copy, There might still be copies at Wilsonville. Just ask for the book club copy.
