I have access to some advance screening passes for My Sister's Keeper for June 22nd at 7pm at the Lloyd Center - Regal Cinemas.
Advance screening passes do not guarantee seats for the movie. It is first come first serve, so you will want to show up early to make sure you get a seat. (the theatre overbooks the screening to ensure a full house)
To get your passes you will need to sign up on the website to print out your passes.
3. Reminder about My sister's keeper - advance screening tickets
1. The Undomestic Goddess by Sophie Kinsella
Our next book is The Undomestic Goddess by Sophie Kinsella and we will discuss this on July 14th. I currently have 3 copies at the library and more
coming in.
In order to make sure book club members get the books, I am keeping them in the back.
If you would like one, send me your name and library card number and I will place it on the hold shelf for you.
2. New book suggestions by June 30th
It is that time again to start coming up with new books. Send me your book suggestions (author & title). They can be books you have read or are interested in reading. Please send the suggestions by June 30th.
From these suggestions, I will create a voting form so that we can choose the next set of books to read. I hope to complete the voting in July near our next meeting.

PS. Do not forget to sign up for the Adult Summer Reading program "Mastering the ART of reading" starting June 15th. Win prizes and discover new books ;-)
Starting in July the library will be open more hours (thanks to the library district funding). Along with these new hours, I will also be working more hours. However, I now must change the day and /or time we meet since my new hours conflict with book club.
I can not meet: Mondays or Tuesdays - after 2pm, Saturdays or Sundays - all day
Other than those days/times, we can meet anytime and this included\s before or after library hours.
Please send me ASAP, the days, times, and week (ie. 2nd Tuesday of the month) that you are willing and able to meet.
My hope is that this change
will also benefit former members who had time conflicts with our current time.
Our discussion for July will be its normal date July 14th (Tuesday) from 6-8pm.
We will discuss Undomestic Goddess.
Our next book will be Shadow Divers by Robert Kurson. I will have multiple copies available to check out at the meeting. If you are unable to make it, please send me your name and library card number and I will place the book on the hold shelf for you.
August is when we will start our new date for book club. Tomorrow I will confirm the date and time with our library room schedule and will send out a message. So far the overwhelming response has been for Thursdays.
Also I am working on the voting form for our new series of books. I will have it ready by the time we meet on the 14th.
Our next book will be Shadow Divers by Robert Kurson.
We will meet on Aug. 13th (THURSDAY) at 6pm. (our new date)
The story is about finding a U-boat off the coast of New Jersey and the journey the deep sea divers take in order to identify the U-boat.
I found a quote by the author telling more about the book. He states it is more than a story about a submarine. "It's a book about human beings and how they see
themselves and how they answer a basic question when that window opens up, as
it does maybe once in a person's lifetime, when they get to take a true look at
themselves."
There are more copies available at the Wilsonville Library. Please ask at the circulation desk for a copy. I am keeping them in the back for safe keeping while we are switching to a new library system.

PS. If you haven't voted for our next series of books. Please vote soon! Voting ends on July 19th and I will post the results by the 22nd.
We had an excellent turnout for voting, with 19 voters.
Normally I pick the top 6 choices, however I am extending this to the top 7, so I don't have to choose which book is left out.
Since three of our choices are best sellers and currently have long waiting lists, I am still working on the final order. I hope to figure it out by our next meeting.
With that said, I have picked September's book: Angelica by Arthur Phillips.
We start our new meeting date on August 13th (Thursday)
If you are interested, here are the results of our voting.
