World Language Development is concerned with the development of a proposed future international auxiliary language with the following characteristics:

1. It is not one of the existing national or ethnic languages.
2. It draws from the experience of previous or existing planned language proposals borrowing what has been successful and avoiding acknowledged mistakes.
3. It aims to be worldwide in outlook, avoiding both Eurocentrism and apriorism, and drawing inspiration from pidgin and creole languages and other languages subject to intense language contact.
4. The methods to be used in its development are intended to be academically rigorous and objective, avoiding personal caprices and ballast, and paying due attention to modern attitudes in the field of linguistics, and have the aim of launching a workable 'beta-test' proposal in a realistic but finite time frame.

Until the development of our language reaches a certain stage of maturity the languages to be used (except for examples of words or sentence structures etc.) in the forum are: standard English, standard Spanish (Castilian), or standard Esperanto. Other languages may be considered for use on the list if necessary, but no translation facility will be provided. Other languages, particularly planned languages, are not permitted.

Participants are required to treat other members of the forum with respect. Racism, sexism and spam will not be tolerated. Messages which are copies of contributions to debates in other lists, other than "Kalim", will not be published.
