WINMOR is an HF digital protocol designed for use with the Winlink 2000 network. WINMOR will eliminate the need for external PACTOR hardware. WINMOR was presented at the ARRL/TAPR Digital Communications Conference in Chicago, September 26-28, 2008. Rick Muething, KN6KB, presented his paper entitled, "WINMOR. . . A Sound Card ARQ Mode for Winlink HF Digital Messaging".
WINMOR is not a software program but rather a Protocol that works with a PC sound card to provide a virtual TNC enabling throughput performance approaching h/w based PACTOR 2 and, hopefully, PACTOR 3.
RMS Express, a beta program (initiates/accepts connections) that is presently peer-to-peer ONLY, can be found in the Group Files section for downloading and testing with other RMS Express users.
Important! This is beta test of the peer-to-peer version of the WINMOR portocol at this time. It will be at least a few months before a version which will work with the established worldwide WinLink 2000 System is available.
