The purpose of this East Bay, CA community forum for ideas, dialogue, organizing and action is to strengthen the Democratic Party and the progressive voices within it. Thus the importance of a positive tone, a willingness to seek agreement rather than disagreement, and to learn from others, even when disagreeing with them.


These are passionate and important times. The club recognizes that members often address emotional issues and that discussion may, at times, become heated. However, WDRC is committed to civil and respectful discussions in all its communications, including its list serve.

Please observe the following rules:

~ Do delete all the information in the message field that does not relate to your reply.
~ Do proofread your posts
~ Do pay attention to the subject line and make it relevant to your post.

MOST IMPORTANTLY:
~ Do distinguish between opinion and fact.
~ Do distinguish between criticism of ideas or policy and personally disparaging remarks.
~ Don't post personal attacks on any member of the Club
~ Do respect the feelings of our members their opinions about Dem candidates public figures.

We expect that as members of this list, we can monitor ourselves. If that turns out to be an error, the Executive Committee of WDRC will notify the poster that their post is inflammatory and then delete it from the archive. The Club reserves the right to deny anyone the use of the WDRC list-serv for violation of these rules.
