This is a group for people in Western Canada (and surrounding parts of the USA and points North!) who are interested in rabbits and cavies. It is the discussion group for breeders of these animals and for those who keep rabbits and guinea pigs as household pets.
This is also the official on-line public forum for the Western Canada Rabbit and Cavy Fanciers Club. That club has an online forum for purely club discussion- http://groups.yahoo.com/group/WCRCF-clubtalk.
We support discussion from all members of local rabbit and cavy club members, including EARS, NSRBA, and the Manitoba Fanciers' group. We also support discussion of a new Canadian rabbit breed, the Canadian Plush Lop (aka "Canadian Curly") and discussions by and with members of that Breeders' Group..
All material will be reviewed by the moderators and off-topic material will be deleted. Sale animals, cages, and equipment may be posted on Fridays and there is an album set up in the photos section for a picture and description and contact addresses. Members may post for sale animals etc on this album at any time. Members may submit albums of their rabbits/cavies (and other pets, within reason) for sharing on this group at any time.
Animals offered for sale may be placed on the posting board album. The members list on this group is restricted to moderators. This is to protect you from spammer attacks.
The group Homepage photo changes from time to time, and a moderator may ask you for a favorite rabbit/cavy photo for display on the homepage, so keep this in mind when posting Albums. The only rule for homepage photos is that the animals are posed naturally or in a natural setting (houserabbits at liberty within the house or garden, for instance) Photos of rabbits or cavies intereacting with and/or being held by their owners are also a nice subject for the homepage. This week's picture shows Candice and Matthew's bunny performing with the Canadian Rabbit Hopping Club recently!
Cristina and I are very happy to announce we won Best Seasonal photo in a local photo contest. http://www.victoriapets.ca/?q=node/1100 Very exciting! Kim &
