You have probably seen Wendell Potter,
former Cigna Insurance Executive on any number of news programs, or perhaps on one
of the Sunday morning talk shows in the past few months. Wendell is one of the
leading figures from the Health Insurance industry who has left the fold and been
willing to come out and openly discuss how the Health Insurance industry really
operates.
Saturday, December 12, 10:30 am Town Hall Meeting with Wendell Potter, former Cigna Insurance
Executive
As health care reform nears a vote in the Senate, Wendell Potter,
former head of corporate communications at CIGNA, one of the nation’s
largest health insurance companies will address concerned Tennesseans at a town
hall event on health care reform to share his insider-information of the
insurance industry. After 20 years of working in health care management,
Potter made the decision to go on record about how health insurance companies
treat their customers.
Potter will discuss his transformation from industry mouthpiece to
whistleblower, the healthcare industry’s extensive PR and lobbying
machine, as well as what health care reform will mean for Tennessee’s
families.

Thursday, December 10,
6:30 pm until 8:30 pm WCDP Holiday Potluck Dinner Featuring Holiday Ham & Turkey
As many of you know, we typically
have a Ham & Turkey holiday dinner together every December. In lieu of our
regular holiday dinner this year - we delivered eleven family Thanksgiving
dinners to those less fortunate in the Franklin
area last week.
As we are in the middle of renovations - regretfully, the headquarters will not
be ready in time for December Potluck. We do hope to have the renovation
complete in time for January Potluck when we will host a New Year Grand Opening
of the new and improved Williamson County Democratic Party headquarters in downtown
Franklin. The work is coming along very nicely, though a little slower that we
expected. Our renovation fundraising goal was not met so we have had to adjust
to doing a lot of the work amongst ourselves. Naturally that slowed us down a
few weeks. I will keep you posted on progress.
Todd
Please attend one of the local candidate events this weekend if you can:
