The Western Australian Globalisation Forum (WAGF) is an unmoderated discussion forum complementing Perth's first community convention on globalisation--N25 (25 November, 2000). Membership applications are vetted to exclude spam posters.
This list was opened for the 200 N25 participants and is also open to activists and other followers of the 'globalisation' issues. N25 succeeded in bringing together citizens of diverse socio-political views who share a growing understanding that economic globalism is destructive of the WHOLE of civil society and human culture, not limited to certain 'classes' of citizen.
Archived postings include speakers' texts, workshop papers and discussion of such material, as well as comments about the convention, suggested follow-up activities, etc.
WAGF is also a vehicle for discussing positive solutions to the problems and challenges posed by the trend to global corporate control over national economies and governments.
The forum does not necessarily imply an organisation or alliance of its members, but is a vehicle for sharing information and thereby raising greater public awareness at a time when the mass media are failing (or refusing) to adequately report and investigate these issues.
