Virginia Paddlers Association is a state wide informal group of paddlers whose interests include whitewater, flat water, lakes, bays and ocean paddling. We use recreational canoes, touring canoes, whitewater canoes, recreational kayaks, touring kayaks, sea kayaks, inflatable canoes and kayaks, rafts, sail boats, skiffs and stand up paddle boards.

A major interest of our group is to promote, preserve and protect the waterways of Virginia. This includes mapping, maintaining and promoting water trails, adopting streams, adopting access points, working to restore water quality, uncovering and publicizing erosion issues and working to overcome pollutants being introduced into the air, soil and water of Virginia. Another major interest of our group is to promote safety and goodwill in all aspects of our water play.

Membership in the Virginia Paddlers Association yahoo group is open to all paddlers. To post on this list you will first need to register. Please provide the moderator with a bio including your favorite craft and paddling locations to confirm that you are indeed a paddler and not a spammer. A major goal of this list is to keep it free of spammers for the life of the list. The moderator may send a test email to your address to confirm that you are not a spammer.
