Just a quick reminder that the Mayor's Day of Service is this Saturday, June 27!

 

Below is a list of the projects being done in conjunction with the Mayor's Day of Service, I sincerely hope that you'll join us!

 

Venice EcoFest Beach Clean Up

8 am -10 am

Meet at the Information Booth on Oceanfront Walk near Windward Bring comfortable shoes and clothes

 

Ballona Wetlands Clean Up

8 am - 11:30 am

Meet at Shallow Water Nature Store, 221 Culver Blvd., 90293 Bring comfortable shoes and clothes

 

Mar Vista - Fire Station #62 Clean Up

8 am - 12 pm

Meet at the former Fire Station #62, 3631 Centinela Blvd, 90066 Youth will not be allowed in the building, but will be able to help with outside portion of the property

 

West L. A. Civic Center Clean up

8 am - 12 pm

Meet at the West Los Angeles Municipal Building at 1645 Corinth Ave., 90025 Bring comfortable shoes and clothing

 

Motor Avenue Tree Planting

8:30 am - 11:30 am

Meet at 3387 Motor Avenue (at Woodbine), 90034 Bring comfortable shoes and clothes

 

Food Drive and Electronic Waste Drive - Paul Revere Middle School Sponsored by 1-800-GOT-JUNK and SOVA Community Food and Resource Program

8 am - 12 pm

1450 Allenford Ave, 90049

Bring your Electronic Waste (computer monitors, TVs, small appliances, cell phones, etc.) to dispose in a safe way!

Bring canned goods and other non-perishable items!

 

Electronic Waste Drive - Hamilton High School Sponsored by 1-800-GOT-JUNK

8 am - 12 pm

L. A. Film Festival - Food Drive and Free Movie Screening All Day Broxton Avenue between Weyburn and Kinross The 1956 movie "Hot Rod Girl" will be screened for free on Broxton Avenue at 8:30 pm Contact the Los Angeles Film Festival office at 310.432.1240 for further details

 

 

 

Volunteer Appreciation Festival and Free Bus Transportation to City Hall Please see the attached flyer for the Mayor's Volunteer Appreciation Festival, to be held from 11 am to 3 pm on the grounds of City Hall directly after the Day of Service projects.

 

Buses will be provided from:

Hamilton High School - 2955 S Robertson Blvd, 90034 Palms Elementary - 3520 Motor Ave, 90034 Mar Vista Gardens - 11965 Allin St, 90230 West L. A. Municipal Building - 1645 Corinth Ave, 90025 Shallow Water Nature Store - 221 Culver Blvd, 90293

 

Buses will leave between 11:15 pm and 12:15 pm, depending on the location
