VeggieJews is an international organization dedicated to providing a support group for Jewish vegetarians and vegans; projecting vegetarian, vegan and animal rights consciousness into the Jewish community; and fostering Jewish identity. Thanks to volunteers, VeggieJews can offer social events in local communities and college campuses as well as online news, opinions, recipes and activist alerts. We also offer opportunities to put "tsedekah" (good deeds, charity) into action with the VeggieJews' Tsedekah Brigade, our animal rights activist wing.
As a Yahoo Group, VeggieJews offers members the ability to easily communicate online with each other. We are not a singles or religious group, but single and observant people are always welcome to participate as are Jews of all ages and our non-Jewish friends. If you are interested in food, health, the environment, animals and matters of interest to the Jewish community, this group is for you. Membership is free.
For posting guidelines, a program to help you easily transition to a vegetarian or vegan diet, recipes, health tips, environmental information and more, click on the "files" link in the yellow box on this page. Click on "database" for networking and "calendar" for upcoming VeggieJews' events and Jewish holidays. We're also online at VeggieJews.org.
If you wish to receive news, information, discussions and general notices of events, you can choose to receive either individual e-mails or a daily digest of each day's posts in a single e-mail. Or, if you prefer, you can choose to receive only special notices of official VeggieJews' events.
