Vegetarianism is growing and becoming more mainstream, but vegetarians are still only a small portion of the United States population. We want to change that. To that end, in February 2007, Presidents Margaret Morin and Julia McCloud founded Vegetarian Network of Dallas (VegNod).

We believe that a vegetarian network enables us to support each vegetarian as an individual and vegetarians as a group, as there is great strength in numbers.

The mission of VegNod is to spread the adoption of vegetarianism through promoting the understanding and respect for vegetarianism and the vegetarian lifestyle.

Our goal is to create a supportive vegetarian community that welcomes vegetarians and those seeking to learn about vegetarianism alike, while consistently adhering to the vegetarian lifestyle core beliefs of compassion and ethical treatment of all sentient beings, healthy dietary practices, and environmental responsibility.

VegNod provides an option to those who wish to be apart of a social community of like-minded individuals. We encourage our members to become vegetarian activists and convince others to join our way of life. Our outreach activities are planned with this objective in mind and are varied, so that each member may participate, regardless the stage of her or his vegetarian journey.

VegNod encourages free and open expression and exchange of ideas. We post on anything related to our above stated mission, goal, and vegetarian lifestyle core beliefs. Please ensure your posts are on-topic. Unfortunately, we can not post pet rescue, adoptions or shelter notices, as this is not our mission and the need in that area, while worthy, is so great that it would quickly overwhelm our message board. As VegNod's mission is strictly altruistic, we tend to also stay away from posting on for profit business business.
