Valley Sling Babes - practicing, teaching and supporting babywearing in the beautiful Chehalem valley. We are based in Sherwood, OR, just southwest of Portland.

WHAT IS BABYWEARING? The practice of carrying or wearing your baby or child in a sling or other form of carrier.

Carrying your babe in a sling allows you to walk, work, care for other children, shop, etc. — HANDS FREE.

New to babywearing? We are happy to introduce new babes to the joys of babywearing!
- Meet other caregivers who use baby carriers
- Learn the benefits of "babywearing"
- Discuss safety in using carriers (e.g.: do not eat or drink hot items if you have the baby in a front carry position)
- See and try on different styles and brands of carriers found in our 'carrier library.' Different carriers work best for different babes.

The nearly-lost art of wearing babies has significant physical, developmental and psycho-social benefits for both mother and babe. Carrying your baby in a soft carrier (recently coined "Babywearing") is far from new; it has been practiced for many generations around the world.

We do not sell or market any particular carrier.
