This discussion group has been formed to address animal control issues in the State of New Mexico. Its purpose is: 1) To educate, provide reference material, and develop a broad statement of goals, strategies, and problem definition applicable to animal control issues throughout the State of New Mexico, 2) To provide a network to share information about animal control laws in New Mexico, 3) To discuss and assist in analyzing specific animal control issues, and 4) To assess the ramifications of proposed animal control laws and consider alternatives for broad-based (community and statewide) action. Bad laws impacting our ownership and use of animals must be stopped (specifically, laws supporting extreme aspects of the animal rights agenda). These are complex issues and this list is here to help. The “Files,” “Links,” and “Calendar” sections should be referenced.
