Description

The Republic of Texas (RT) movement seems to be split into many factions. We saw from their web sites that they're wrong about enough crucial things to spoil their legitimacy, and many appear to have other agendas besides freedom, so we started our own.

They're right that the 1845 annexation of Texas by the US was illegal and invalid, and the RT is still an independent nation whose gov't has been effectively put to sleep by the US occupation gov't. So, we correctly revived the Historical Republic of Texas © (HRT) under its Declaration of Independence and its 1836 Constitution, including the strong separation of Church and State that both documents insist upon. Also everyone has the right under common law and the current US and State of Texas constitutions to secede and form their own gov't, and that is the other valid approach, so we created the New Republic of Texas © (NRT) accordingly.

We're the only group that takes a combined approach using both methods, so our legitimacy is stronger than any other group's. We are uniting the HRT and NRT and any other factions and RT supporters which are willing to join us under the Non-Aggression Principle (NAP). Thus we are the United Republic of Texas © (URT) and are working on what we call Texas Constitution 2012 ©.

We are not terrorists and are not promoting a violent revolution or confrontation with the US or anyone else. Unlike the militant factions, we are NOT trying to "take over" Texas. We only want freedom for ourselves and others who want it, not for those who don't. We seek reconciliation and peaceful co-existence via a treaty of shared jurisdiction recognizing the right of every Texan to individually choose whether to be governed by the USA, the URT, both, or neither (subject only to NAP) so that no one violates anyone else's rights. We will make things better, not worse.
