The Mission of The Liberty Convention of Utah is to proclaim truth and liberty to all people, to re-establish the principles of the Declaration of Independence and to embrace the structure of the Constitution as the Supreme Law of the Land. The state group exists to provide support to local groups as they endeavor to educate and prepare themselves. The Liberty Convention of Utah creates an opportunity to share information, to pool resources and ideas, and to create bonds and communication between like-minded individuals throughout the state.
The organization provides a hands-on approach to “doing government” for citizens. We have chosen, as our form of organization, a mini-version of the organization created by the Constitution. We have hosted representatives from 17 counties and 5 states. We have an organized Assembly, consisting of a House of Captains (similar to a House of Representatives, with Captains elected by every 10 members) and Council of Counties (similar to a Senate, with two Councilors appointed by each County).
Our Fourth Convention will be Saturday September 19th from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. in Fillmore, Utah at the Territorial Statehouse. Admission to the meeting is only $15 and includes lunch. The current list of speakers for the meeting include: Representative Carl Wimmer, founder of the Patrick Henry Caucus, author Farley Anderson, and Kane County Commissioner and states’ rights advocate Doug Heaton, with a bonus training on precincts by Lowell Nelson. This is a great opportunity to learn from some highly committed patriots, meet other like-minded people, discuss the issues that matter most to our county, state and nation, and to determine how we can move together to uphold the principles upon which our nation was founded.
