The US submarine fleet has been the most dangerous weapons of war known to man since the old American S boats and lethal German U-boats. Now the submarine fleet is all more astonishing thanks to Admiral Hyman G. Rickover, the father of nuclear submarines. Rickover pursued the idea of nuclear reactors being the main power source of our submarines today. As a result our submarines are the most lethal weapons in our modern U.S. Navy. These subs are capable of intelligence gathering, ASW (Anti-Submarine Warefare), ASUW (Anti-Surface Unit Warefare), Strategic land attack warfare, Seal operations, arctic operations, rescue operations, and much more. From David Bushnell's turtle to the USS Seawolf SSN-21, the U.S. submarine fleet is truly an amazing engineering achievement.
