Several Lutheran families in the Spotsylvania/Fredericksburg area
have gotten together to form a mission congregation. As we reported
last month, they approached the United Lutheran Mission Association
for information. We visited them in December and gave a presentation
explaining ULMA's mission, structure, and how we can assist. They in
turn sent a lay representative to ULMA's General Meeting in January.
Before coming to last month's meeting the families had already laid
the groundwork. They have the use of a church building and are
already meeting on a regular basis, holding devotions and a study of
the Lutheran Confessions. They have recently located an organist to
assist them.
On February 2nd the group met and approved ULMA's "Constitutional
Guidelines for Mission Congregations". The wheels are in motion for
ULMA to put a Missionary at Large in their midst to serve in regular
Divine Worship services, Bible classes, and community outreach. The
Spotsylvania/Fredericksburg region of Virginia is a rapidly growing
area located about an hour (depending on traffic!) south of
Washington, DC. The mission field is ripe for harvest.
Those in the area are encouraged to visit. The mission has a web
presence with the details and contact information at:

As always, thank you for your prayer support.
