The United Lutheran Mission Association (ULMA) is composed of confessional, conservative Lutheran congregations with one basic purpose, to spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ by establishing Lutheran Missions.
For the ULMA, the word "Lutheran" is not just a label reflecting tradition or heritage. It's a confession of what we believe and teach, as explained in the Book of Concord of 1580.
The mission funds of member congregations are directed to missions we start and support. For the last two years over 95% of our donations have made it directly to the mission field. Our goal is to start churches, not bureaucracies.
We already have a mission congregation, Sola Scriptura Evangelical Lutheran Church, established in Wauwatosa, Wisconsin. The Lord has blessed this congregation with faithful members and their called servant, Rev. James Behling.
We have been blessed with inquiries from concerned laity and pastors around the world. Our goal is to enable the concerned laymen and pastors come together in a confessional, conservative Lutheran congregation. We have the committed people and resources to do more.
The ULMA recently finalized the details of a Missionary at Large. The ULMA is not a church or synod, and therefore cannot call a pastor. Our member congregation, Pilgrim Lutheran Church in Decatur, Illinois, will issue a call to a pastor to function as ULMA's first Missionary at Large.
We are seeking names of interested candidates for consideration for this position. If you, or someone you know, may be open to such consideration, have them please contact:

While the souls of men are dying And the Master calls for you.
Take the task He gives you gladly, Let His work your pleasure be;
Answer quickly when He calleth, 'Here am I, send me, send me!'"
