Fall Coat Drive
Date: Sunday, October 29, 2000
Time: All Day
Even though the seasons are warmer, we still have chilly days
where everyone needs to bundle up and stay warm and toasty. As
many teachers will tell you, some children come to school on
cold days without a coat or heavy jacket. It's hard to watch
these children shiver in the chill as they stand alongside their
comfy peers. UUCM offers you and your family the opportunity to
help these children by sharing your gently worn coat. If you
have children or grandchildren who have outgrown a coat bring it
to church by October 29th for our Fall Coat Drive. We will be
happy to donate each coat to a child who will appreciate its
warmth and benefit from its use. Give new life to your old coat
and brighten a child's holiday season. For more information see
Scott Akridge.

CUUPS Circle: Samhain
Date: Saturday, October 28, 2000
Time: 6:30PM - 9:30PM EDT (GMT-04:00)
CUUPS invites everyone to share in this family event. We begin
the night with a Potluck Dinner at 6:30 p.m., followed by the
Circle. Samhain is the third and final harvest. It is the day
to remember the dead
(specifically our ancestors) and to celebrate the eternal cycle
of reincarnation.
It is said that the veil between the world of the conscious and
that of the
dead is at its thinnest. This allows spirits of deceased
relatives and
other friendly spirits to take part in the festivities of this
Sabbat. Contact Lynn Edwards at 770-445-6121 for more
information.

Family Trivia Night - Music Hall
Date: Saturday, October 21, 2000
Time: 7:00PM - 10:00PM EDT (GMT-04:00)
Family Trivia Night at UUCM - Marietta Music Hall October 21st,
7:00 p.m.
Trivia night had some tough competition as Barbara Brown's clan
(who won our first Trivia Night) rejoined the fray. But Gene
Conroy and the "Terminators" held strong for a second month in a
row. The teen table, aptly title the "What" team, showed their
stuff coming in with a high score. Having Frances at their
table didn't result in divine intervention for the "Do
dah..something" team as they racked their brains for each
useless bit of information. If you enjoy the challenge of
Trival Pursuit or "Who Wants To Be A Millionaire" come test your
mettle in our next light-hearted competition. There are plenty
of food (Pasta to Popcorn) and drink (Scott's alotta Java Punch)
available, plus its BYOB. For kids we have movies and popcorn.
Its a great opportunity to get out, socialize and put those
little grey cells to work. Admission and food are free and
donations are accepted to benefit our Social Justice Projects.
For more information contact Scott Akridge at 770-222-8997.
Please mark you calendars for November 12th. UUCM will hold a
congregational meeting following the regular Sunday Service. Please
read the attached Word document for more details.
