Have fun being green, and help other local community friends and neighbors do the same! URBAN SUSTAINABLE SOCIETY members are easily recognized by the plarn (plastic bag crochet) purses and shopping bags that hang from our elbows. When asked "Paper or plastic?", we answer, "No thank you -- I brought my own!"

Only upbeat people with helpful ideas allowed here. This group is not about discussing the big issues, and is certainly not about bashing others for their non-green beliefs or habits. We just share ideas with each other so we can all make PERSONAL and FAMILY GRADUAL CHANGES towards a greener lifestyle. We tell others what we're doing, and that, then, will start to make a big, local difference. Lots of us never thought we'd be doing some of the things we now take for granted, so please check us out and see what you might be able to do, too!

If you know how to crochet, go to the files section, download directions, and make yourself a plarn bag. If you don't know how, you can barter with someone who does! Print business cards (in Files) on the back of scrap recycled paper, (of course!), and pass them out. Then start posting here. Share what you know. Learn from others. HAVE FUN!
