UMEAP is an unmoderated discussion group for international education and exchange professionals who are primarily involved in sending USA-based students on education abroad and are located in the Upper Midwest of the United States. The group was formerly known as MSAP: Minnesota Study Abroad Professionals.

UMEAP is for international education and exchange professionals who are primarily involved in Education Abroad and are located in the Upper Midwest of the United States. (Professionals from Minnesota who are involved in regulatory issues and who work primarily with incoming international students should check out the Minnesota International Educators site/listserv at http://www.mn-mie.com/ )

UMEAP members also meet approximately once a month during the academic year to share information, networking and professional development opportunities. Most meetings take place on Friday mornings and are held in the Twin Cities (Minnesota) area.

Most UMEAP members are located in Minnesota, but there are others (from surrounding states Iowa, North Dakota, South Dakota and Wisconsin and/or program representatives who cover those territories) who participate in the listserv discussions and meetings.

Many UMEAP members are members of NAFSA: Association of International Educations and/or other related professional organizations, but association membership is not required to subscribe to UMEAP.
