Hi Linda,
I'm assuming you're in the UK.
I can find an Imperia motor for sale (I'm almost certain that the
motor will fit an Atlas 150 - but you'd better check with the company)
Here..

I do think £67 plus p&p is a little steep!
Considering the £-$ exchange rates at the moment, it may be worth
considering somewhere like PCE...

(1/2 way down page)
Good luck.

Hi Alan, yes I am in the UK, thanks so much for the links but your are
right £67 is steep!!!
I have found one motor on eBay which is about £19, but they say it may
not fit my machine, but maybe it's worth buying as they sell a pasta
machine which is reasonable too.
Here's the link in case you are interested.

Thanks again :)

If it were me, I'd get the set for those prices!
Even if the PM isn't built to Atlas standard, at about 15-20 quid for
each, it's worth the risk!(looks like they'll combine carriages too)
You'll have a good 'workhorse machine' for all the arm-tiring stuff,
even if it cockles the sheets at thin settings (as some cheapo 'brand
knockoff' machines do - the cogs don't mesh exactly and the rollers
turn at very slightly different speeds).

Hi Linda,
I saw your post and ordered that motor from Ebay - it arrived today.
It doesn't fit my machine (which is a bit knackered anyway), but
after a bit of research I've found it will probably fit an Atlas or
Imperia pasta maker - as long as there are two semicircular "holes"
on each side of the crank hole.
The motor is virtually the same as the one advertised on the Studio
Equipment page on www.polymerclayexpress.com, and it shows you how to
fit the motor as well which is helpful.

Only just had chance to look, fab stuff. Wish my hubby would get my old oven
re wired as he promised so that I can have a go with clay, if I am kept
waiting much longer I am threatening to use my new oven and live on take away
food. Loved all the photos and feel sooo inspired. Jacqui

Hi Janie, I also ordered the motor, it's great isn't it? It wouldn't
have fitted my machine because it didn't have the holes on the side,
so I ordered the pasta maker too. My old was was OLD.
Thanks so much to everyone for your help with this.

Hi All,
You may have tried to transfer foils like JonesTones, Tonertex etc
etc to polyclay and have found that the holographic ones either won't
transfer or need a heck of a lot more effort (extra burnishing,
overnight contact, liquid clay on the clay's surface etc etc) and
even then, the holos are very hit-and-miss. Even if it will transfer,
the claybake heat can markedly dull the holo effects!
I've found some extremely cheap (6 assorted holo sheets of different
patterns 300 x 500mm each sheet) for about £11.
I discovered its transferability to clay quite by chance.
The foil is sold as 'Smart image' material by both Rapid electronics
and Middlesex University. All six designs are silver overall and the
patterns are small enough for jewllery use.
The MU product is slightly cheaper, but their postal costs are quite
high.
Here's the link if you're interested...

Happy clayings,

Hi! I just wanted to introduce myself as a new member! I am excited to
share ideas and have been browsing some of your talented artistry in
the group! I make miniatures and beads but I always come back to my
favorite, dolls. I have experienced all types of media, even with my
beads, I was finding ways to make art dolls! I love to sculpt fantasy
figures and I am hoping to pick up some tips to get better at
perfecting my sculpting. I can't seem to put the clay down! So, any
advise where to go to get started here would be helpful.
Lori :)

Hello there, I am a newbie to this site and also to the art of polymer
clay. I am interested in the jewellery side of it, and hope to be good
enough one day to sell my stock.
I noticed something on here about 'claymates' and wondered if anyone
could tell me a bit more about that?
I struggle at the moment making skinner blends with the pasta machine
and would like some fresh new ideas on how to make flower canes.
Hope to hear from someone soon

Hi. I make ATC's (arist trading cards) and I am based in Essex UK. I
have put Fimo clay onto some of my cards which you can see here but I
am very new to the medium and keen to improve.....

Hi
another newbie - I'm in Derbyshire, UK. I bought some Fimo on a whim
and was hooked. I immediately sent off for more (a LOT more), pasta
maker, books and tools. Joined this group for inspiration. Bit
disappointed there seems so little activity. Is everyone on holiday?
Christina
Hi there Christina - no we aren't all on holiday (I wish!) we are just a
quiet little group (mostly)!
Ask away, if you need help with anything, there are still people about!
If you want a much more active group have you looked in on Polymer Clay
Central? And for anything info orientated www.glassattic.com
<http://www.glassattic.com> is the answer. But be warned, it can be a
little tricky to navigate there, and I often get side-tracked cos
there's so much interesting info there!
Welcome to your new addiction!! Good innit!

Hi all,
Last week I made – with some friends – some fimo items for the babyshop.
The gingerbreadhouse has been renovated.
Kind regards,
