This is a list for people in the UK who have an interest in fostering and/or adoption. It doesn't matter whether you are investigating fostering or adoption, are a foster-carer or adoptive parent, or are in some other role in the field, such as a social worker or manager (though we could do with more of the last categories joining in the discussions - we promise not to bite too hard !!!)

It is intended as a place for us to share experiences, gain information or ask for support.

Please be aware this is an open group, therefore consider carefully that anyone may read the postings. Make sure you maintain confidentiality, and do not under any circumstances post details that could lead to the identification of a looked-after young person - think before you post - this covers much more than just naming an individual.

The list owners make no attempt to claim compilation copyright over any compilation of postings generated by the Yahoo! Groups system, so copyright on all postings remains entirely with the original poster. Please remember this if seeking to make use of postings.

Abusive posts or any relating to illegal activities are not allowed. In particular, our transatlantic cousins, whilst most welcome here, should be reminded that receiving payment for the supply of a child for adoption is illegal in the UK and any posts soliciting this (however indirectly) will lead to the immediate removal of the member.

Similarly, any member who signs up just for the purpose of advertising will be immediately removed. We mean by this signing up and then posting details of web sites or other revenue-collecting activities without joining in with the community first. Remember too that MMF (Make Money Fast, aka Pyramid, aka Ponzi) schemes ARE illegal so however they are disguised, try and punt one of them and you'll be outa here !

Finally, the success of this group depends on as many of us as possible joining in - so don't lurk, post.
