You have accessed the discussion list to Students Against Sexual Stereotypes and Inequality (SASSI) which was formed in order to create an environment tolerant of all sexual orientations and gender identities on campus, at the University of Illinois at Springfield, and the surrounding community. SASSI has formed to provide an atmosphere of support which promotes self-acceptance for all students of diverse genders, ethnic, racial and religious backgrounds, and people with disabilities of their respective sexual orientations and gender identities. In an effort to dispel sexual stereotypes and fight ignorance, which leads to fear, violence, and discrimination, SASSI strives to educate the UIS campus in such a manner that homophobia, heterosexism, heterophobia, transphobia, and sexism will be eliminated.
