Welcome to the Unschoolers Gatherings of Ohio (U.G.O.) - Family Retreat / Camp-out.

Our 6th Annual, 2012 UGO family retreat will be Thurs., Sept. 6 - Sunday, Sept. 9 2012 in the beautiful Hocking Hills area of Ohio (~ 1 hr. S.E. of Columbus, Ohio).

The UGO Gatherings are for unschoolly families to simply have fun, relax and share time with other families who follow a more child-led, interest based, whole life learning, relaxed, non-traditional homeschooling approach.

For our 2012 UGO, we'll be back at the awesome Camp Akita - a top premier lodge/conference center netled in the scenic Hocking Hills area of Ohio. The facility includes an air- conditioned/heated lodge with a large conference center and several breakout rooms for our group to use as needed for gatherings, funshops, unschooling talks/discussions, etc.. www.campakita.org

Activities and amenities at our camp include a 7 acre private lake with a nice sandy beach, swim area and floating raft for diving. Canoes and rowboats are available for free. They have basketball and sand volleyball courts. They also have a large fire ring area for group campfires.

Accommodations include private bedrooms with bunk beds in the main lodge. The sleeping quarters all have a nice lounge area with kitchenettes. Also available are several rustic one room cabins and 3 premier cabins.

Registration will begin in April, 2012, on a first come basis. NOTE -Registration is limited to the first ~ 30 families / 150 people, to help keep our Gatherings more relaxing, informal and intimate.
