The mission of API is to educate and support all parents in raising secure, joyful, and empathic children in order to strengthen families and create a more compassionate world. API promotes parenting practices that create strong, healthy emotional bonds between children and their parents. For life. So they can take those bonds with them into their adult lives and share them with their children. And their children can do the same. A life cycle of compassion and connection.

The Eight Principles of AP are Prepare for Pregnancy, Birth, and Parenting, Feed with Love and Respect, Respond with Sensitivity, Use Nurturing Touch, Engage in Nighttime Parenting, Provide Consistent and Loving Care, Practice Positive Discipline, and Strive for Balance in Personal and Family Life.

The goal of Twin Cities API is to provide a supportive environment for parents interested in and/or practicing the elements of Attachment Parenting. API support groups provide a means of learning attachment parenting, a place to share ideas and ongoing child rearing concerns, and a safe haven where parents can communicate openly about their choices. We are open to all families interested in AP.
