Abortion Is Moral?: Part One
ABORTION IS MORAL: #203475
The Following Is My Refutation Of An Article Written By Brial Elroy McKinley.
"WHY ABORTION IS MORAL by Brian Elroy McKinley All of the arguments against abortion boil down to six specific
questions. The first five deal with the nature of the zygote-embryo-fetus growing inside a mother's womb. The last one looks at the morality of the practice. These questions are: 1. Is it alive? 2. Is it human? 3. Is it a person? 4. Is it physically independent? 5. Does it have human rights? 6. Is abortion murder? Let's take a look at each of these questions. We'll show how anti-abortionists use seemingly logical answers to back up their cause, but then we'll show how their arguments actually support the fact that abortion is moral. 1. Is it alive? Yes. Pro Choice supporters who claim it isn't do themselves and their cause a disservice. Of course it's alive. It's a biological mechanism that converts nutrients and oxygen into energy that causes its cells to divide, multiply, and grow. It's alive." Bj:
First, I Wouldn't Call Folks Like Myself That Believe In Life, Anti Abortionists Because We Want Abortionists To Live As Well, We Just Want Them To Stop Murdering The Innocent.
However, I Do Believe That Anyone That Does Take The Life Of The Innocent Whether It Be Evil Dictators Or Those That Kill The Unborn, There Needs To Be An Aggressive Governmental Way Of Stopping Them.
Later You Will See In This Article That This Author Adds To His Ideas On This 'Biological Mechanism' As He Calls It.
This Author's Statement Above Will Come Back To Haunt Him When He Says The Woman Has The Right To Do Whatever She Wants With 'Her Body.'
This New Addition Would Not Qualify As 'Her Body'.
Every Person Occupies 'A Biological Mechanism' Called The Body, So Pointing To The Visible Part As Representative Of The Whole Is A Logical Error.
An Organism With It's Own Developing Features Doesn't Qualify As The Woman's Body.
Now If It Isn't Human, Then What Is It?
A Zebra, A Giraffe?
Article: "Anti-abortion activists often mistakenly use this fact to support their cause. "Life begins at conception" they claim. And they would be right. The genesis of a new human life begins when the egg with 23 chromosomes joins with a sperm with 23 chromosomes and creates a fertilized cell, called a zygote, with 46 chromosomes. The single-cell zygote contains all the DNA necessary to grow into an independent, conscious human being. It is a potential person."
Bj:
This Is A 'Potential Argument' Only, But It Fails Miserably.
"Dr. Norman Geisler, Christian theologian:
Actually, we do know when human life begins. It begins at conception. A sperm, with just its 23 chromosomes, is not a human being; nor is an ovum, with its 23 chromosomes. But when they unite into one entity with 46 chromosomes, the result is a human being. This is a medical fact. Genetically, the fertilized ovum is a human being, with its own lifelong, characteristic code and identity. From this point on, it is simply a matter of its growth, not of its kind." More Here:
It Has To Be Proven That A Human Isn't A Person At Conception.
The Abortionists Don't Even Agree With Each Other On When Human Personhood Begins But They Vehemently Disagree That It's At Conception.
But They Cannot Provide A Shred Of Evidence That It Is Not At Conception.
"If it is true that we don't know when full humanness begins, this is an excellent reason not to kill the unborn, since we may be killing a human entity who has a full right to life. If game hunters shot at rustling bushes with this same philosophical mind-set, the National Rifle Association's membership would become severely depleted. Ignorance of a being's status is certainly not justification for killing it."
It Is Not The Burden Of The Pro Lifer To Show That.
There Is No More Logical Place For Personhood To Begin Than When Human Life Begins.
The Abortionist Must Has Much More Faith Than The Pro Lifer, To Believe It Happens At Any Other Time.
The 46 Chromosomes Qualifies It As A Human Rather Than A Zebra Or A Giraffe Or A Part Of The Woman's Body.
In Fact The Baby At Conception Has All The Necessary Components, Now Comes Only Growth.
There's No Such Thing As A Potential Person Only A Person With Potential.
Article:
"But being alive does not give the zygote full human rights - including the right not to be aborted during its gestation."
Bj:
Who Says???
Where's The Logic Here, Who Determines The Percentage This Human Being With 46 Chromosomes Gets?
The Declaration Of Independence Says:
"all men are created equal and endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable rights; that among these are life." (Declaration Of Independence)
Note 'Endowed By Their Creator' At Creation.
The Human Life Of 46 Chromosomes At Conception Is Creation, What Happens Afterwards Is Development.
If This Baby Was Born At Eight Months Prematurely Would It Be Worthy Of Protection?
If This Baby Was Aborted At Eight And A Half Months Before It Was Born, Would It Be Worthy Of Protection?
Many Abortionists Would Say That Somehow The Simple Fact That It Was Born, Makes It Worthy Of More Protection, Even Though The Premature Baby Is Younger.
It Is An Act Of Faith By Abortionists To Say That Something Magical Happens At Birth Or Any Other Time For That Matter Than Conception, For This Human Life To Become A Person.
Article: A single-cell ameba also coverts nutrients and oxygen into biological energy that causes its cells to divide, multiply and grow. It also contains a full set of its own DNA. It shares everything in common with a human zygote except that it is not a potential person. Left to grow, it will always be an ameba - never a human person. It is just as alive as the zygote, but we would never defend its human rights based solely on that fact."
Bj:
What Part Of 46 Chromosomes Does This Author Refuse To Understand?
Except This Amoeba (Author Misspelled Amoeba) Doesn't Have 46 Chromosomes And Didn't Come Into Being Through The Uniting Of Human Egg And Sperm.
This Author Is Contending That Personhood Doesn't Happen At The Time Of Human Life i.e., 46 Chromosomes.
Where Is His Evidence?
Article: And neither can the anti-abortionist, which is why we must answer the following questions as well.
2. Is it human? Yes. Again, Pro Choice defenders stick their feet in their mouths when they defend abortion by claiming the zygote-embryo-fetus isn't human. It is human. Its DNA is that of a human. Left to grow, it will become a full human person. Bj:
Actually, This Author Sticks His Foot In His Mouth When He Blindly Assumes That Human Life Is Not Personhood.
Yet He Cannot Provide A More Logical Point For It To Begin.
This Particular Author Agrees That It Is Human, But Many Abortionists Will Not Even Agree To That.
So If It Is Human Then Doesn't It Deserve The Protection That Liberals Press For With Animals?
If It Is Human, Then Why Not The Protection That Animals Get?
We Don't Have To Prove The Personhood Of Animals To Get Many Of These Self Same Folks To Protect Animals.
This Is Truly One Of The Oxymoronic Inconsistencies Of The Liberal.
Article:
"And again, anti-abortion activists often mistakenly use this fact to support their cause. They are fond of saying, "an acorn is an oak tree in an early stage of development; likewise, the zygote is a human being in an early stage of development." And they would be right. But having a full set of human DNA does not give the zygote full human rights - including the right not to be aborted during its gestation."
Bj:
So Who Determines The Percentage Of 'Human Rights' This Baby Has?
Again This Author Creates Straw Man Arguments Then Knocks Them Down, While Forgetting That He Has Left Gaping Holes In His Own Defense.
He Is Fond Of Saying What It Isn't But Cannot Provide The Ingredients That The Unborn Are Missing That Keeps Them Simply A Part Of The Woman Or Only Potential Persons.
He Still Hasn't Proven That Personhood Happens At Another Time Than Conception And Hasn't Shown That Human Life Doesn't Deserve At Least The Same Protections We Would Give Animals Who Haven't Been Proven To Be Persons.
This Author Could Not Even Agree With Other Abortionists On When Full Protection Should Start.
They Say Concerning Conception, 'I Dunno But It Aint That.'
No Wonder That Some Of The Most Horrendous Crimes Have Been Commited By Those That Follow This Line Of 'Reasoning'.
Article:
"Don't believe me?"
Bj: You Haven't Provided Any Reason To Believe You.
Article:
"Here, try this: reach up to your head, grab one strand of hair, and yank it out. Look at the base of the hair. That
little blob of tissue at the end is a hair follicle. It also contains a full set of human DNA. Granted it's the same DNA pattern found in every other cell in your body, but in reality the uniqueness of the DNA is not what makes it a different person." Bj: Again A Logical Fallacy.
It Assumes A Functional Reality Over An Essential Reality.
Being In The Image Of The Eternal I Am Gives Us Personhood At Creation Not Development Or Doing Tricks. (Genesis 1: 26,27; Exodus 3:14; John 8:58)
Again This Author Cannot Provide A Better Time At Which Personhood Begins.
It's The Burden Of All Abortionists To Show That When Human Life Begins Is Not When Personhood Begins.
Creation Not Development Gives Us Full Human Rights.
This Is Even Guaranteed In The Declaration Of Independence.
The Declaration Of Independence Gives Us Equal Rights At Creation And We Are Endowed By Our Creator Not The Courts, With These Rights.
It Is 'I Am Therefore I Think, Not I Think Therefore I Am.'
We Are In The Image Of The Great 'I Am' At Our Creation.
If We Were To Attempt To Give A Time Other Than Conception When We Were Persons We Might Have To Say Before Conception.
"Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart; I appointed you as a prophet to the nations." (Jeremiah 1:5)
But Of Course This Would Be In The Mind Of God Who Inhabits Eternity.
"and the dust returns to the ground it came from, and the spirit returns to God who gave it." (Ecclesiastes 12:7)
More To Come
