This egroup was formed in Yr. 2002 with the objective of building a strong Uttarakhand Association of North America (UANA) community within the tri-state (NY/NJ/PA) area of USA.

The group aims to provide a forum for Tri-state (NY/NJ/PA) area Uttarakhandi people to share their views, joys and sorrows and help our children feel more confident and secure about Uttarakhandi cultural heritage and values. A larger goal of this group is to disseminate information regarding local-area and UANA events, programs, and activities to the Tri-state area Uttarakhandi families.

The group would like to take this opportunity to thank Dr. Prabhu Negi of Erie, PA for rendering inspiration and guidance for establishing the Uttarakhand Association of North America (UANA) formally.
