Trans Financial Planning is a group for trans (MTF and FTM), partners and allies to discuss aspects of financial planning. This listgroup is a judgment free zone to learn and share resources having to do with finances. Whether one is saving for surgeries, wanting to repair their credit, invest for the future, construct a will, figure out the best deal on a car, or get into some complex investing-- this is one place to get and give constructive ideas and get pointed in the right direction.

Transition brings large expenses & employment and career fallout. Typically we lack exposure to investing strategies and financial encouragement usually resulting in difficult financial circumstances. The challenges we face to our legal status adds an additional layer to our financial planning. This list is an attempt to tap into the knowledge and skills within the community to benefit the members in dealing with these issues.

Any Trans, partner, and/or ally who seeks financial empowerment and knowledge no matter where they are starting out from is welcome to join this list. Persons with expert knowledge on any aspect of finances are especially encouraged to join this list.

All posts having to do with finances are 'on topic' with the exception of political debates. There are many other lists that are set up to discuss political topics. Our goal is to keep this list relevent to the list topic with an attitude of encouragement towards personal financial improvment.
